Tongass National Forest is the largest national forest in the United States, spanning over 17 million acres.

The forest, located in Southeastern Alaska, was created by then-president Theodore Roosevelt and named after a clan of natives. The forest consists of over five million acres of wilderness, made up mostly of islands and rugged coastline.
